I would like to thank you very much for writing your book ‘Quit for Life’. I smoked 60-100 cigarettes per day for 35 years and this is my 45th day smoke free after reading your book. No pain, no drama. I had no idea how to go about this without extreme mental and emotional distress, until reading your book. This is real. After the first 2 weeks I knew it was over. I began to apply your “mindfulness thingy” to other aspects of my life, with surprising success. This book managed to take something overwhelmingly insurmountable and reduce it to manageable and totally doable baby steps. One pang at a time. Thank you, you helped me overcome addiction, and regain my freedom for the first time in 35 years. Your method is calm, dignified and gentle compared to other books. Well done and thank you once again. PS I can’t believe how such a cheapo purchase could change my life!
Last year was my fortieth birthday and I was saying to my Mum how I wish I could stop smoking. She knew that I hadn’t been able to stop (even with nicotine replacement) and my birthday present this year was your book. It took courage to start reading your book – it worked! I quit smoking by chapter three. My doctor couldn’t believe it, because he going to trial me on Champix. I hope more smokers will read your book and I can only advise my friends to purchase it.
I smoked for 25 years, but once I had a family, I knew I had to quit. I tried all the methods – acupuncture, hypnosis, electric cigarettes, patches, books, phone lines, cold turkey – without success. I always went back to smoking.
It wasn’t until I read Quit for Life that I really understood the reasons behind why I smoked. The tools Quit for Life gave me, and my new understanding of my smoking ‘story’, as Jamie calls it, allowed me to quit smoking for good, and feel great about it.

When I met Jamie in 1996, he was so passionate about helping people quit smoking that he offered me his time for free.

It is incredible how easy it has been for me to stop smoking. I wanted to stop, but wasn’t sure if I had the inner strength to actually do it.
